The Defence Support Group (DSG) is the consolidated service delivery organisation for the Department of Defence and is responsible for managing and sustaining the Defence estate of land, buildings and infrastructure which includes over 3 million hectares of land with more than 700 leased or owned properties and more than 25,000 built assets.
Brookfield Multiplex provides Comprehensive Maintenance Services (CMS) and Project Management services to the Sydney Central, Sydney West South and Southern Victorian regions which constitute approximately 41% of Defence’s CMS portfolio. These regions include more than 275 sites with over 9,564 individual structures / facilities and 88,000 individual pieces of plant and equipment. Within the facilities there are multiple heritage listed buildings and a range of environmental and stakeholder issues to be managed.
The contracts are delivered by Brookfield Multiplex Services in a joint venture arrangement with John Holland Engineering known as Defence Maintenance Management (DMM).
Melbourne Convention Centre, VIC
This 6 star energy rate special purpose facility is currently under construction with completion due for January 2009. The project comprises a new 5,000 seat Convention Centre of 66,000sqm to complement the existing 40,000sqm Exhibition Centre. The Services division is a key member of an integrated Brookfield Multiplex Design and Construct Team, ensuring that whole of life FM issues are integrated into the design and construction process of the new Convention Centre.
