The Centrelink Development is situated on what was a 5.35 hectare greenfield site in the southern suburbs of Greenway in the ACT, and within the defined area of the Tuggeranong Town Centre.
The design of the building is leading edge and creates an exemplary, contemporary workplace for the 2800 staff of 40,000 sqm NLA in two distinct wings with an enclosed atrium space between.
The atrium acts as the major circulation space within the building and is further activated by the introduction of tea points and meeting spaces. Providing a village street/meeting place/communication hub, the atrium design creates a contemporary, comfortable and inviting work environment to facilitate and encourage communication between all sections of the organisation. Construction systems have been developed to obtain a 4.5 star ABGR and green star rating.
