Project Manager

An opportunity currently exists for a Project Manager to join the Facilities Management division to oversee a multi million dollar city building services upgrade. You will be in charge of managing the project to ensure the works and services are safely completed on time, to specified quality and within budget.

Reporting to the General Manager your key responsibilities will include:

  • Management of all stages of project delivery including:
    • Scope definition;
    • Design;
    • Tendering;
    • Construction;
    • Commissioning;
    • Handover; and
    • Tuning and Defects Liability Period.
  • Ensure the following project specific and statutory requirements are met:
    • Quality Assurance;
    • Occupational Health & Safety; and
    • Environmental and sustainability.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships and leadership with the project team.
  • Contract administration of project contractors, consultants and suppliers.
  • Manage project costs to ensure the final cost is within the clients approved budget.
  • Conduct project meetings.
  • Prepare reports for the client on project progress, financial, OHS etc.
  • Manage the seamless commissioning and handover of the project.
  • Manage the tuning and defects liability periods efficiently.
  • Apply risk and opportunity management to all key decisions for the project.

To be suitable for this role you are required to have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering or Construction Management; or
  • Trade qualifications in HVAC, electrical services or building construction.
  • 5 years experience as Project Manager, Services Manager or Site Manager on commercial building construction or refurbishment projects.
  • Post trade/graduate qualifications in Building systems, Project Management, Engineering or Business Management is desirable and being an accredited NABERS assessor or accredited Green Star professional would be beneficial.

You will also need to be a motivated and enthusiastic leader, a confident communicator and have a sound commercial acumen.

Brookfield Multiplex is looking for cadets (undergraduates) and graduates to join their team in Brisbane.

We have built more than 160 residential developments, 130 commercial buildings, 53 hotels, 25 hospitals, 14 sports complexes, 13 industrial warehouses and 1 casino. Our impressive portfolio of projects includes some of the largest and most complex construction projects currently running in Australasia including King Street Wharf, in New South Wales, Melbourne Convention Centre, Victoria and the Deloitte Centre in New Zealand.

Our Cadet and Graduate Program offers an environment to develop technical and interpersonal skills through a wide variety of projects and development opportunities and is a great way to commence your career with an industry leader. We are looking for new Cadets and Graduates to join our energetic team on the new Wintergarden project in Brisbane.

The tasks and activities that you will be involved in include:

  • Developing work programmes off the master construction plan.
  • Liaising with construction staff and subcontractors in planning and executing work including the sequencing and timing.
  • Monitoring the procurement of resources and materials to ensure that construction program is met.
  • Consulting with supervisory staff, engineers, subcontractors and consultants to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Control and coordinate the dissemination of documents and material samples.
  • Administering and complying with Brookfield Multiplex Quality Assurance processes and maintain documentation.
  • Monitoring and inspecting the work of subcontractors to ensure quality of finish, meeting specifications and adherence to schedules.
  • Assist Site Manager coordinate the various elements of a construction site’s Safety Plan and assisting with OH&S issue esolution.
  • Coordinating equipment hire and materials handling requirements as needed.

To be eligible for the cadet/graduate program, you will need to demonstrate that you have recently completed or are currently completing a Building/Construction/Engineering (or similar) degree.
